I have the greatest wife ever

Recommended Posts

My wife is such a great woman. A couple nights ago, I was supposed to go to the VA hospital ER due to massive bowel problems from military service but was diverted to another area ER. We went to the VA hospital to refill my pain meds since I'm in daily pain. My wife caught my doctor coming out and she explained to him who I was and what I needed. When I first met her, she was timid and wouldn't stand up for herself. But she took care of business and spoke to him as I went to patient advocacy.

Guys, there are women out there who are class acts. I just wanted to share this with you all because I'm proud of her and handled business like a soldier, not taking any guff nor backing down with regards to helping me. I'm a lucky man and have been given a great woman by GOD. I'm not worthy but feel so blessed to have her.

thanks for taking the time to read this.  I encourage you to all be patient and I'll keep you in my prayers every night that you too will be as blessed as I have been.

I don't know you, Chris, but thank you for your service! Be well, sir.

You're truly welcome. I felt I had to do something that I believe in for the love of my country and my fellow people. sometimes not all wars are right and we get sucked into bad situations. My step dad who passed away from cancer 3 years ago, served in Vietnam and he was truly a great man. He made me the man I am today through his teaching. My real dads father, my grandfather, was in the Navy. My wifes grandfather was tasked at a concentration camp in post WWII Germany and won't say where but he had to help take care of the dead jewish bodies and it affects him to this day at age 90.

It was just something I truly believe in.

While I understand your sentiment, I also see this as a testament to you. If she had not met you, she may have been a completely different person today. But that's the point of relationships, finding that special someone who make us work to be better people for them.

I'm glad you've found it. I either missed my chance or I'm still searching, but I'm ok with either of those situations at the moment.

well with your kind words, you are truly a man of good character. I'll keep that in prayer as well that you too will find a woman that will bless you too. It is truly saddening that, today we see so much clashing between the sexes when we are meant to be together. we weren't meant to be alone. So in closing thanks a million fo rsuch kind words.

My ex is one of them. I miss her big time. I do think about her sometimes.

She helped me out.  I helped her out as well...    I am one of the nice guys on here... I help build the homes for the needed families. Such as EMHE & Habitat For Humanity

Good luck for the years to come to you both. Wish you both well.  :)

Now don't think I'm trying to start a flame war - but are all Americans like you? Feel the need to go fight for your country?

I have absolutely zero interest in serving for my country (Australia), nor is there any pressure too (which I get the feeling is different in the US).

But kudos to your wife - sounds like you're rubbing off on her. Good stuff.

Naw, it doesn't bother me. A lot of us have many generations of family who have served. I come from a long line of military servicemen in my family. Perhaps its simply called patriotism. I even see your Australian soldiers as comrades and allies. I've served with several on the UN mission in the Former yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia 94-95. I served with soldiers from the south pacific even and Russian as well.

kind of like a brotherhood of sorts

I'm sure your wife is a wonderful woman, but you are going to have to do a little better than her catching your doctor coming out and explaining to him who you were and what you needed if you want to convince us that she is the best wife ever.

My wife is rather nice too, on occasion.

I thought about this too - I thought that the OP in his Vicodin-induced splendor might have thought she did something wonderful - whenit was the pain killers that gave him the euphoria....

That story might make her empathetic, but not greatest ever...

Mine's better.... she can PRESCRIBE Vicodin !!  :D
