Your description is a little vague, where does the Overclocking from the title come into this, and if its OC related why did you rip out (I hope you actually mean carefully took out) your GPU?

Either way general hardware issues where you can't boot/get past POST try the following:

Clear BIOS/CMOS using the jumper pins, not just using reset defaults in BIOS, or remove the battery for a while if you don't know where the jumper pins are.

Also try disconnecting everything you can, all non OS HDD's, all but 1 stick of RAM, all optical drives, PCI cards etc.. strip it down to CPU, 1 stick of RAM and OS drive, and obviously PSU and Mobo, and see if you can boot with that.

Then switch the RAM stick with another just incase you picked a faulty RAM stick.

If none of that works then the mobo is probably faulty.

But to be honest if its producing an error code of 71 have you talked to Asus support to ask what the code means? that might be the easiest thing to do?....or check the manual to see if it has a list of codes..
