GTA 5 runs on 1 FPS on Lenovo Y5070 (Nvidia + Win 8.1)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Day ago did fresh Win 8.1 install on my new Lenovo Y5070.

It has I7 4720HQ

8GB RAM

Intel HD 4600

GF 960M GTX 4GB

SSD 256GB

Then installed GTA 5 it worked fine, some micro freezes here and there but at least nice FPS.   After couple of hours without any special reason I turn on again the game and it moves 1 FPS per second!

Tried remove NVIDIA Drivers

Install new BETA

Remove BETA

Install original from Lenovo CD

Nothing...nothing helps.

Now I am here asking for help :)

Thanks a lot for anyone who will try help me!

Have you updated GTA to latest version update?  Try right clicking on EXE and run on GTX 960m

This, seems like the game is running on the lol Intel graphics adapter and not the nvidia one

Hmm perhaps I would imagine same but why if I click "benchmark" it says hardware: geforce 960M ?

Left click, choose nvidia..same results..

Switch ain't helps...

Yes it moves one frame per second....totally not playable..

He was referring to your title, which says 1 fps/second, or 1 frame per second per second, which has a totally different meaning.

Try putting your laptop in high performance mode in power plans.

Hmm title of the topic is "GTA V Problem witn Nvidia", so yeah..

Dude...clearly it is for GTA V, not 5....V is a letter, not a number!

Disabled nvidia in.bios now game runs same slow and benchmark says Intel card and not geforce .. means it did ran that slow on geforce...

There were several suggestions in that thread. Keep going.

Also, I don't believe the thread told you to disable Nvidia in the bios.

I tried disable the nvidia in bios to see if game runs same on pure INTEL HD and yes it runs same 1 FPS....

I don't think anyone questions that it is running on the Nvidia hardware at this point.

I mean, I did post an Nvidia related thread that has potential fixes in it. Please actually try what is mentioned.

Make sure your laptop is running plugged into power cable and not on battery. (TAKE OUT THE BATTERY)

Also check the power settings. it might be on "balanced". change those settings to "High Performance".

1. power set on max performance

2. Lenovo power removed -  no help

3. No anti viruses installed

4. optimized profile doesnt help

5. Lenovo Y5070 Battary is inside...its not easy pluggable out....

NVIDIA Control Panel->Manage 3D Settings->Preffered graphics processor->Choose "High-performance NVIDIA processor"->Apply

Make sure to set it back to auto after gaming, you'll run out of battery in no time otherwise.

I had a Lenovo y50-70 a few days ago, returned it in less then a day since the display had edge bleed and green yellows. Got a zenbook pro instead, way better ^^

So you didn't try anything in the thread I posted then. Do you want to fix this or not?

Power plan isn't gonna change anything, the laptop just fails to switch to the nvidia card which happens on my zenbook pro too. It's just a matter of manually switching to the nvidia card.

Just enable the nvidia card as I posted in bold text above.

Also you ain't running on 4k are you? You can give up on hoping to play gta 5 at 4k, even two titan x in sli aren't sufficient to play it at 4k on high xD
