Arbor Solution has introduced a new tablet for commercial customers, called the Gladius G1052C. The device is a ruggedized tablet, which is important where heavy duty work is needed, as it is possible for these devices to get knocked around.
The G1052C supports Windows Embedded 7, Windows 7 Professional, Windows Embedded Standard 8.0, Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro, and Windows 8.1 Professional and the tablet can be upgraded to Windows 10, which was just released to the public yesterday.
As for the Gladius G1052C's specifications, it features a 10.4” XGA TFT color display with a LED backlight, with a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. The insides are powered by an Intel Celeron N2930 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 32 GB mSATA solid-state drive. Also, the tablet comes with a 1D/2D barcode scanner, magnetic stripe reader, and an RFID/NFC scanner. Furthermore, the G1052C is Military Standard 810G compliant, and is also dust and water resistant.
In relation to this, Panasonic has also been releasing ruggedized computers running Windows. Back in 2013, the company unveiled the Toughpad 4K, a relatively large tablet, coming in at 20 inches (and recently got fresh new specifications). It also announced the FZ-M1, a 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet, and the FZ-E1, a mobile phone running the Windows Embedded 8 operating system by the following year.
