Epic Games Seattle opens for Unreal Engine 4 work

Epic Games is expanding by leaps and bounds lately and today the game developer announced it will launch a new office on the west coast. The Gears of War and Unreal game developer, and the makers of the popular Unreal Engine tools, have now opened a studio in Seattle.

Epic's press release today says that their new studio, which does not yet have an official name, will be working, at least at first, on engineering projects related to Unreal Engine 4, which was publicly revealed earlier this year. It is actively recruiting people to join them with a number of open positions.

Epic has been expanding quite a bit lately. Earlier this summer the company announced it would open a Maryland studio, (later named as Impossible Studios) and bought the rest of Poland-based developer People Can Fly that it didn't already own.

Besides Maryland, Poland and Seattle, Epic still has its headquarters in North Carolina, along with its Utah team at Chair Entertainment and offices in Japan and Korea. So far, the only Unreal Engine 4-based game that has been announced has been Fortnite, the strategy-action game that's a PC exclusive and does not yet have a release date.
