It's happening: Windows 10 Mobile is live for the Nokia Lumia Icon - here's how to get it

As promised by Verizon yesterday, the Nokia Lumia Icon is now authorized to receive an official Windows 10 Mobile upgrade.

After Blu announced Windows 10 Mobile availability for its devices earlier today, the Icon will be one of the last devices to be approved. Of course, this is not a shock to Verizon users, as the Icon was the last Windows phone to be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1. In fact, it skipped over Lumia Cyan and went straight to Lumia Denim, being one of the first to get 8.1 Update 1.

To get the update, you'll need the Upgrade Advisor app, which you can grab right here. You'll need to run the app to opt into the upgrade, and once you do, head over to Settings -> Phone update. If your phone is like our test unit, it will already be downloading when you get there.

While you're waiting for the upgrade to finish (you'll have to upgrade twice; once to 10586.107 and once to 10586.420), you can head over to the simulator that Verizon created to help familiarize yourself with Windows 10 Mobile.
