Mozilla Seeks Filmmakers For Ad Contest

Mozilla Corp., maker of the popular open source Firefox browser, launched the second phase of its ad-making contest today, which calls for professional and amateur filmmakers to develop a 30 second, broadcast quality commercial for Firefox.

The entires for the contest, known as Mozilla Firefox Flicks, include Freddy Rodriguez of HBO drama "Six Feet Under," Ben Younger, writer/director of the movie "Boiler Room;" Warren Zide,
producer of the movie "American Pie;" Scott Goodson, chief executive of
the Strawberry Frog ad agency, and others.

The first phase of the campaign, launched earlier this month, allowed users to submit videos singing the praises of Firefox.  Entries were received from users in more than 20 countries and posted on the initiative's website.  Winners of this phase are eligible for prizes, and their efforts may be used in further global marketing campaigns.
