Eve moves closer towards a release for the “V,” a crowd-funded convertible 2-in-1 ultrabook, also known as “Project Pyramid Flipper.” After detailing information on its CPU and RAM in October, it has now confirmed specifics on its display, glass panel and pen.
In a blog post, the company states, “The past 10 months of collective effort has reached its conclusion and all the specifications and features of the Project Pyramid Flipper have been locked in.”
Previously verified specs include a choice of Intel 7th-generation “Kaby Lake” processors, up to 16GB or RAM, up to a 512GB SSD, and an array of connection options including multiple USB 3.0 (Type A and C) ports and a microSDXC card reader.
Eve focused on the V’s 12.3-inch IGZO panel with a 2736 x 1824 resolution in their latest press release. Key specs of the 10-point “metal-mesh” touch panel, which Eve says should improve touch accuracy all around, include a 1:1400 contrast ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass and over 100 percent of the sRGB color standard.
Eve also took special measures to reduce glare and improve the screen under direct sunlight, explaining that “Typical culprits of reduced colors and brightness are air gaps between different components.” It says that "the V's displays are optically bonded with the V's glass,” which will help eliminate these gaps, as will an additional anti-reflective coating.
The V's pen will support Windows Ink as well as the N-TRIG protocol and features 1,024 pressure levels of sensitivity. Although the pen will be sold separately, Eve claims that it will still be affordable.
Project Pyramid Flipper will be available later in November on Indiegogo, with more specs set to be revealed before then, including details on the battery, audio, and keyboard.
