After releasing the developer beta of iOS 9.2 earlier this week, and roughly a week after the release of iOS 9.1, Apple has made the latest iOS update available to public beta testers.
The latest iteration of Apple’s mobile platform brings several bug fixes along with other under-the-hood improvements, however, the main changes come with the Safari View Controller (the web browser that many apps use). The Safari View Controller has been updated to more closely align the Safari app. The new View Controller brings support for third-party extensions such as password managers, so that they can interact with the web page from within the app.
For those in the beta program, the update is available as a 1.6 GB over the air update; and for those looking to sign up as a beta tester: you can do so via Apple’s beta testing website.
As Apple pushes on with updates to iOS, it continues to decommission older releases. As of today, it is no longer possible to downgrade to iOS 9.0.2, as it is no longer being signed. The earliest version of iOS now being signed by Apple is iOS 9.1.
