Halo: The Master Chief Collection is getting optimized for Xbox Series X|S

Microsoft revealed the first wave of games that will be optimized for Xbox Series X|S a few days ago. The list currently includes 30 titles but one that was notably missing from it was Microsoft's Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This changes today as the company has revealed that the title will be optimized for its next-generation consoles.

As revealed by numerous regional and global Xbox Twitter accounts today, Microsoft's 6-game bundle will feature enhancements for Xbox Series X|S consoles, including 120fps in campaign and multiplayer mode, split-screen improvements, and up to 4K resolution - the final feature is only targeted for the more powerful Series X. The tweet from primary Xbox Twitter account can be seen below:

Another good piece of news form this announcement is that this update will be free for current owners and Game Pass subscribers can jump into the fun as well without paying any additional cost. All in all, while Halo Infinite is delayed to 2021, it appears that Microsoft will compensate fans of the franchise to some extent with this free update.
