Razer has announced a new version of the Orochi wireless mouse, which it's calling the Orochi V2. The Orochi V2 runs on a removable battery, and you can actually choose whether you want to use an AA or AAA battery to suit your mouse weight preference, though only a AA unit is included with the mouse. Of course, you'll also get more battery life with the bigger AA batteries.
Specifically, Razer is touting up to 950 hours of usage on a single AA lithium battery, which is what's included with the mouse. If you opt for a smaller battery or an alkaline variant, you'll get lower numbers. Additionally, that's measured while using the mouse in Bluetooth mode, but it does support Razer's HyperSpeed wireless communication, for which a dongle is included. This will also use more battery, but it's a more adequate option for gaming when input latency is a concern.
Another unique feature of the Orochi V2 is that it's customizable through Razer Customs. This is a program Razer has offered for a while, but only four mouse pads and phone cases, but with the Orochi V2, you'll be able to customize the look of your mouse to suit your taste. Razer offers a range of themed patterns ready to go, but you can also choose single colors or gradients and combine them with patterns, stickers, and personalized text to create something unique to you. This does, however, make the mouse significantly more expensive.
Other than that, specifications for the Orochi V2 include a weight of 60g (minus the battery), six programmable buttons, an 18,000 DPI 5G sensor, up to 40G acceleration, and on-board profile storage so your settings are saved across different PCs.
The Razer Orochi V2 is available starting today for $69.99/€79.99 in black or white. Custom variants from Razer Customs cost $89.99/€99.99.
