After details emerged last week of Samsung's plan to launch a preview of its next major Android update, the company revealed a couple of days ago that the beta would kick off on November 9.
Today, as promised, Samsung announced the launch of its Android 7.0 Nougat preview, but availability is currently limited to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge flagships, in just two markets.
In its home market of South Korea, only the Korea Telecom, SKT and LG U+ carrier variants of the devices are supported. Unlocked versions of the handsets, along with the Olympic and Batman Injustice special editions of the S7 edge, are not eligible for the preview.
The Nougat preview is also being offered on the two devices in the United Kingdom, but Samsung has previously said that the special edition variants aren't able to take part in the preview there either.
In order to participate in the Galaxy Beta Program, users will have to download the Samsung Members app from the Galaxy Apps store or from Google Play. They'll then be able to sign up for an invitation to the Android 7.0 beta, but it seems that not everyone who registers will be selected or approved to take part.
Samsung hasn't yet revealed if it intends to offer the Android 7.0 Nougat preview on other handsets, or in other parts of the world.
