Like many of its rivals, Samsung has been gradually rolling out the Lollipop update to many of its high-end Android devices in recent weeks and months. But as with its competitors, Samsung's Lollipop updates have been based upon the version 5.0.x releases, rather than the latest Android 5.1 build.
But now it seems that this is about to change. According to SamMobile - a pretty credible source when it comes to such matters - Samsung is now working on the Android 5.1 update for its latest flagships, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, as well as the Galaxy Grand Prime, which launched in late-2014.
Citing an unnamed insider at the company, the report also claims that Samsung is now turning its attentions towards upgrading more of its mid-range devices to Lollipop, now that many of its high-end phones and tablets have already got the update.
The Galaxy A-series is in line to get some Lollipop goodness in the near future, while Android 5.0.2 is also said to be a work in progress for the Galaxy Mega 2 and Galaxy Core Prime. However, the insider also mentioned that Samsung is not working on a Lollipop build for its Galaxy Note II, which first went on sale in September 2012.
