Google has started testing its message editing feature for Google Messages with some users in beta. The feature has reportedly been in development at least since December last year.

Google messages app may soon allow users to edit the sent text messages as the latest beta build of the app added new lines of code referencing a new edit message feature as well as a edit history.
Google Messages is testing categorizing conversations using labels that appear at the top of the app. The labels, which include All, Personal, Transactions, OTP, hope to reduce inbox clutter.
A teardown of the latest Google Messages beta app hints at the ongoing development of features like message reactions and drawing on images for RCS texts. The code also reveals an updated homepage.
