Tinder launches Music Mode to make your connections a bit more personal

Music Mode in Tinder

The top dating app in the world, Tinder, has announced the launch of Music Mode available through the Explore page. In Music Mode, members’ selected Anthems (a song they choose from Spotify) are automatically played to help try to build a connection. According to Tinder, 40% of Gen Z members have an Anthem on their profile and those with Anthems see a 10% increase in matches.

Commenting on the launch of Music Mode, Kyle Miller, VP of Product Innovation at Tinder, said:

“Now with Music Mode, our members can experience that feeling when you’re at a party and you find out someone else loves the same songs you do. It’s amazing how adding music as another element of discovery elevates the whole experience on Tinder. Songs are deeply personal, and Music Mode is a place to spark something new through music.”

Tinder hopes that by introducing Music Mode it can bring out ‘the natural ties between music and human connection’ through its service while at the same time trying to emulate a party-like atmosphere. With the Omicron COVID-19 variant spreading, this party-like atmosphere could be a bit of a reprieve if governments bring back any of the restrictions.

Tinder users will be able to begin using Music Mode in the coming weeks as it becomes available to everyone globally. The only restriction on using Music Mode is whether Spotify is available in your country, if it isn’t, then you’re out of luck.
