Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 now available to purchase for $179.99

At the start of this year, leaked images of a next-generation Xbox Elite Controller appeared online but it took another six months until Microsoft officially announced the existence of the controller at its Xbox E3 Briefing. Although we managed to get a bit of hands-on time with the peripheral, the world has had to wait until this month to be able to purchase the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

One of the main benefits of the second-generation Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is its support for Bluetooth connections, following in the footsteps of its non-Elite brethren. You'll also have the ability to adjust thumbstick tension, take advantage of shorter trigger locks, and enjoy improved grip thanks to the liberal application of rubber around each of the grips. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 also packs "up to 40 hours of rechargeable battery life" with the ability to charge the new internal battery using the included USB Type-C cable or charging dock that can be used either inside or outside of the carry case.

If you've been hanging out for the second-gen Elite controller to hit the shelves, you can buy it now from the Microsoft Store for $179.99 or from other popular game stockists.
