Yesterday, Facebook issued a new update for its Messenger app for iOS. Unfortunately, it looks like the update has caused some issues, as some users are reporting that the app is crashing on their devices.
While things seem normal when you first open it, after using it for a little bit, it tends to crash. The app also acts in this way when switching from one app and back to Messenger. If you have yet to update your app to the latest version, you will probably want to avoid it.
If you have already updated, for the most part, you'll be inconvenienced. The app still does work but it really isn't capable of staying open for an extended duration. As long as you keep the activities short, you should be fine. Even if the app does crash, you can just continue what you were doing.
Since the app is quite popular, the issue has most likely been reported by many so it is only a matter of time before a fix is issued. For the meantime, if you have updated, you will just have to be patient.
