Google has cut the price of the Nexus 4 smartphone by up to $100 in the U.S. and also knocked a chunk off for U.K. buyers, if you buy it on the Play Store.
The 8 GB U.K. version can now be purchased for £159 unlocked, or $199 in the U.S., and the 16GB version now costs $249 or £199 in the U.K.
The Nexus 4, which was launched in November 2012, comes with an Android 'Vanilla' experience, shipping with no skins or fluff that you might expect from a carrier. It didn't have an easy start either, suffering shipping issues after the first two months of release; and to top it off some users then started experiencing issues that in some cases 'bricked' the device when updating to Android 4.3, which started rolling out at the end of July.
The Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS display (320ppi), a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB Of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 8 megapixel rear camera, up to 16GB of storage, NFC, Bluetooth, and wireless charging via Google's new Wireless Charging Orb. The back is made of glass and features a sparkly pattern underneath the surface.
