OnePlus 8 Pro hands-on photo shows display refresh rate settings screen

A hands-on photo of the OnePlus 8 Pro showing the various refresh rate settings option has leaked online. The image also shows the punch-hole camera cutout on the top-left corner of the display as depicted in the leaked renders.

The leaked image courtesy of True-Tech confirms that OnePlus intends on offering users the option to switch between three different display refresh rates on the OnePlus 8 Pro. The 60Hz option will reduce the UI smoothness but extend the battery life, while the 90Hz option will offer a balance between smoothness and battery life. The 120Hz option is meant for maximum smoothness albeit at the cost of battery life.

It is unclear if switching to 120Hz refresh rate could lead to the display resolution dropping to FHD+ for performance and battery life reasons. Samsung intends on doing this for its upcoming Galaxy S20 series and its possible that OnePlus' also follows suit.

OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a 120Hz Fluid Display that will be the best users will see on a smartphone this year. Apart from the high refresh rate, the panel will also offer MEMC for motion smoothing and up to 4096 levels of brightness adjustment.

The OnePlus 8 series should be announced in April. This time around, the device will also launch on Verizon's network in the US with 5G support.
