OnePlus releases another new OxygenOS beta for the 3 and 3T

While OnePlus deals with the latest controversy surrounding its new flagship phone, it's continuing to work on further software updates for its earlier devices. Two weeks after releasing its previous OxygenOS beta for the 3 and 3T, OnePlus has announced the arrival of another beta release.

OxygenOS Open Beta 20/11 is now rolling out to the 3 and 3T, respectively, bringing several new optimizations:

  • Battery saver indication changed from orange status bar to a notification
  • Optimized calculation method for data usage statistics, tracking is now more accurate.
  • Optimized expanded screenshot, now supports capture while gifs and videos are playing. (Experimental)
  • Visual effects improvements for Weather widget

The new beta also brings some bug fixes to the two handsets:

  • Resolved various 3rd party app crashes
  • Fixed bluetooth device battery status wrongly displayed for non-supported devices
  • Fixed Weather occasionally not being able to retrive forecast data

Details on how to download and install the new beta can be found here on the OnePlus site. Bear in mind that if you join the Open Beta program, you'll receive beta updates over-the-air, but if you want to switch to stable official releases later, you'll have to wipe your phone first.

OnePlus has promised to upgrade the 3 and 3T to the next major version of Android - currently known as Android O - by the end of this year.
